Stuart Garfoot, a Canal Art artist was our speaker for the March meeting. He gave a PowerPoint presentation of the history of the canals, the painting culture and the working canal boat’s demise. Most canal boats are now liveaboards or holiday homes with traditional painting very much still in demand. He answered lots of questions throughout the talk. He then gave a demonstration of how he created some designs and members could have a go if wished. He holds lesson/workshops and stands at fairs selling his beautiful wares. Sarah Saxelby gave the Vote of Thanks.
I think the photos speak for themselves.
